1960 Cessna 310D. Total Time Airframe (TTAF) 4536. Time since major overhaul, left engine 1386, right engine 1615. Time since propeller overhaul for both 411. The avionics are IFR capable with dual nav/coms; an RT385A and a MX385. ADF and glideslope. King 76A transponder with mode C.

This 1960 310D is the fourth twin engined Cessna my family has owned and was to be mine. I'm a college student though, and even though I've come tolove her I don't have any more time for it. It is a project aircraft that was last annualed in November of 2005 and will take a bit more work to get flying again. As projects go, it is an easy one and we've been through the airplane to find what needs to be done.

N6896T was owned by a pilot who was building twin time and then got a job with a major airline and  moved to the Dallas – Fort Worth area, having to leave the airplane behind in dry storage here in the desert. Time went by and the aircraft fell out of annual. When a new mechanic shop opened up on the field that was familiar with 310s in 2009, the process of an annual was started but then stopped when the owner didn't have the financial means to finish the job. The owner decided to sell the airplane as it sat, which is how I came to own it earlier this year.

In the years between 2009 and 2013, several parts were removed from the airplane without the owner's permission.  We've done an inventory of what's missing and have located those parts (mostly out of my dad's stock of surplus “just in case” 310 parts). To make sure we missed nothing, we put the airplane on jacks to cycle the gear, put fuel in the tanks to check the fuel system, checked out the engines (pic of her opened up below) and then started them up, cycled the props, checked the radios, and exercised all the flight controls.

Again, to get this airplane flying again will require some work. Overhauls are due on both Hartzell HC82VF-2 propellers. One of the propellers had been disassembled in 2009 (don't know why), so we put on a core propeller in order to run the engines and check the propeller governers. You will get all three propellers with this airplane.

A gear rigging will need to be performed. A nose gear linkage had been taken from the airplane, so we replaced it with a serviceable part in order to taxi and move the airplane, but did not adjust it. The nose gear switch is also missing, but we have a replacement part ready to be installed.

There will likely to be other minor things that need to be done, but those are the biggies. If you need a mechanic in Tucson, we can recommend a good, well priced A&P/IA at KRYN that knows 310s. If you are a mechanic that would be traveling here to ferry the airplane elsewhere, we can assist with jacks for the gear rig and also provide some labor. If you want to have the props done by Warner Propeller here in Tucson, I am happy to remove the props and take them to their shop for you so they can be done before you arrive.   Also, we will do our best to supply whatever parts are needed out of our stash to ferry the airplane, to make this as easy as possible for you.

This airplane is sold "as is, where is".  Tie down fees are $50 a month, starting on the month after purchase.  Please let me know if you have any questions and I'll try to get you accurate answers as quickly as I can.

Thanks for your interest in Niner Six Tango !
